I am of that generation of brows that have been over plucked like a Christmas turkey ! My older sister has suffered from alopecia where her eyebrows disappeared completely and went down the route of having them tattooed on. We did realise at that point the difference your eyebrows can make to the way your whole face looks.
They frame your face and lift your eyes. I have heard it said that a perfectly groomed and shaped eyebrow is almost as good as having a face lift. Hmmm, well we will see.
I quite like the uncaring approach that some take.....

However, I have made a decision to pay a little more attention to this part of my make up routine and I will admit to it making a difference. It does appear frame my eyes ( I have a slightly squinty eye that I am a bit conscious of in photos) and it does finish off my make up and keep what is left of my brows in place. I have tried to use eye shadow to fill my brows and whilst this does the job ok, it does not have staying power and does not keep the hairs in place. So pre Christmas I got a couple of beauty treats. This was the first:
It has a coloured wax and a powder. You apply the wax to keep the brows in place and the powder to fill in the gaps. Alternatively you can mix the products for more colour pay off. There are two small brushes. One small angled brush for the wax and a curved brush for the powder. There is also a small pair of tweezers to tidy up stray hairs.
It is a lovely set, but I feel a little overpriced at £23. It comes in 3 shades, light, medium and dark. I have the medium.
I did feel the brushes were fiddly and somewhat useless and I use my own that do a far better job. The tweezers seem to be something you might get out of a cracker - actually I may keep mine for my homemade Christmas crackers next year. Having said that the wax and powder do a really great job. They don't have great staying power and although would see you through an evening out - a whole day of beautifully sculpted eyebrows would be pushing it!
I shall enjoy using this set and make the most of it, but I won't be repurchasing it so my hunt continues. These are the ones I have my eye on when this runs out.
