Cable Tidy Review

Organisation

The privilege of being organised has well and truly gone out the window for me at the moment.

I have a hamster living in my hallway.

My larder is on my lounge floor.

I can hand the builders their tea through a hole in the wall.

However, it won't last forever and this little gadget sent to me by Mobile Fun is rather ingenious.

Cable Tidy by Mobile Fun

I fully intend on creating a "charge station" where we can keep all gadgets that need charging together in one place when the building work is finished. This "Cable Tidy" will be a great addition to keep wires out of the way and gadgets off the surface while they charge. It has many uses . You can use it as a stand too and keep headphones tucked neatly away at the same time. So simple, yet so effective, it was a best seller at The Gadget Show Live 2103. It retails at a reasonable £4.99 at Mobile Fun.

October Joliebox

What's in the box?

Two beauty boxes in one week - what more could a girl want? Actually, don't answer that we might be here a long time!

I do like the way JolieBox packs their boxes. There is always a small drawstring bag which is reusable for anything from toiletries to snacks for the kids. Waste not want not.

The contents are certainly an improvement on last months with a proper full size product included.

There are two Iroisie Ultimate BB cream samples. I am glad this is not a full size product as I have found my BB truelove at the moment. As my french is no good I looked it up on the website here. It looks a lovely product and is almost completely natural so I shall enjoy trying this . A 15ml tube is £29.90 compared to the DR. Jart that is £24 for 40ml so a little more expensive.

Ritessens Velvet Cleansing Milk. This is a full size product, but I can't find a convenient stockist in the UK so wouldn't repurchase . I also could not find a price for it in the Uk. The price in Euros is €23. It is a natural product again, quite bland in it's fragrance, but I like that in a facial product and feels creamy to touch. I am reluctant to try this at the moment as my poor face has had enough of trying different cleansers. JoileBox - please include products we can easily repurchase if we love them!

Jason Bee Healthier Lip Balm Stick . This is a lip balm - what more can I say?  It looks and feels a lovely little balm, but I have given it away as I have rather a lot already.

Moa Green Balm. This is an intensive multi purpose balm that gives moisture to chapped and dehydrated skin. It is suitable for sensitive skin. 20% off when you enter Jolie20 at the checkout. I am interested to try this , especially with winter approaching, but it is a teeny tiny sample! Again I quite like the smell - a little bit like faint menthol. Not everyones cup of tea.

Talking about tea - tea bags. Lov is beautiful White and Green tea. This has antioxidants and zinc that have proven skincare benefits. I love green tea so am happy with this.

This is certainly a much better box than last months and I do love getting different samples to try out. Any samples I don't use I have saved and put towards a box that I made up for a friend . I can't say I have changed any of my skin care because of the samples I have received yet, but I have had a lot of enjoyment out of receiving and reviewing them . With Christmas coming up a 6 or 12 month subscription would be a lovely gift to purchase someone who loves beauty products.

You can subscribe to Joliebox here. A years subscription gets you two free boxes.

You can subscribe to Glossybox for 6 months and get one box free here

You can subscribe to Glossybox  for 12 months and 2 boxes free here

You can get 20% off your first Glossybox here

Hope you have a lovely weekend and Half Term. We are holing up in a country cottage for the week in West Cornwall. Lots of log fires and beach walks. Just what is needed after a frantic start to the term! Xx

June's Joliebox

Better Late than Never?

I expect you have heard about the delays and frustrations surrounding the delivery of the June Joliebox UK. Apparently caused by problems with a mailing issue that resulted in boxes not being dispatched. Anyway mine has finally arrived today !! So, although I don't intend on doing a monthly review of all the products that are in my monthly box ,as lots of people are already doing this very well indeed, I am doing a photo gallery of "whats in my box" instead. This is particularly for a friend of mine who is keen to see what it is all about ... so 'J' this is for you ! x

Pretty Orange Box( already in love!)

The products ( sorry about the pic quality here)

Pamplemousse Protective and Vitalising Creme

l'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream

Elysambre lipstick

Leonor Greyl Volumizing Shampoo with Algae Extracts

Institut Esthederm Bronz Repair Body Lotion

Jolie Nail File

I think every girl should sign up to a box - it is such a treat ! Joliebox customise some of their items as well, although because of the mix up with the mailing this month they couldn't guarantee you would get the right box. However mine was ok - I got the volumizing shampoo, which I will use and the shade of lipstick is just perfect - a deep cherry pink. The L'Occitane product is fabulous already - shame that isn't a full size one, but it it should last a week as you don't need to overload your skin with good quality creams . The only downside is the Pamplemousse full size product is for normal to oily skin which is wrong for me so that will have to be given to a lucky friend.... I'm going to give Joilebox another month to get this right as I don't think the posting problem was their fault and the box was lovely - beautifully wrapped with good quality items , which is what you want from a beauty box. My July box shouldn't be long anyway!

Bath Sanctuary Hand Mask

Final Review

This is a product ( Original review) that I have been trying out to combat the battering my hands take on a daily basis with three kids in tow. You have to put a good amount of the mask, which is like a creamy souffle on your hands, then cover with some lightweight gloves overnight. You wash off any residue in the morning and follow up with hand cream .

The Verdict

Now bear in mind I am a huge fan of most of Bath Spa products here and think they are fantastic value for money and hugely underrated, but......
I didn't feel that for the effort of sleeping in gloves that there was the huge difference over a month I would have liked to have seen. Sure, my hands were moisturised, but they have a lovely hand scrub and hand cream in their range that does a better job here (  I would say get these instead as the scrub makes a big impact).
I felt that the mask was absorbed very quickly and therefore was there really any point wearing the gloves? I also found even if I washed my hands afterwards there was still a tendency to leave bits on my skin. Personally, I wouldn't use it again, but try for yourself - it certainly left my hands moisturised and soft. I just prefer the other, simpler combination that is quicker and leaves my hands feeling deeply clean, smooth and moisturised.

I think scrubs are a strong point in their range and this  micro dermabrasion body renewal followed by their body moisture spray is a really good quick shower routine to get into to, especially pre holiday!
