Wednesday's Beauty Buys
In my continuing quest to find products that do as good a job as salon products, but at a fraction of the cost, I have been trying out these John Frieda styling products.
I wash my hair every three days and use GHD straighteners so a heat protection element to what I use is essential to avoid breakage, especially as I am attempting to grow it.
1. Frizz Ease Daily Miracle Treatment with heat protection - this detangles the hair to resist breakage. It is a vitamin enthused, leave - in conditioner that nourishes and detangles dry, damaged strands to help hair resist breakage and feel silky smooth. You spray it through clean damp hair and style as usual. I really like this product. It does not leave my hair feeling like it has a lot of product in at all and certainly detangles it , leaving it soft and smooth. I am trusting that it is also protecting it!
2. John Frieda Luxurious Volume - Thickening blow dry lotion with thermo protection. This thickens and lifts from the roots for high rise style. After washing, you towel dry hair and spray on roots , then style as usual. I like to give my hair a bit of lift at the roots, otherwise it lies very flat. This does what it says on the tin, but does feel like you have product in the hair, but I don't think I have found a thickening product ever that doesn't feel a little bit like that. This works for me, but I am unsure if you wanted a lot of body whether this would be the right product.
3. Frizz Ease - Shape and Shine, Maintain and Brilliance. Flexible hold hairspray. I find this hairspray not too heavy which is how I like them . You can easily run your fingers through and restyle your hair. It isn't heavy or sticky and has a light fragrance. It still doesn't beat my all time favourite Sebastian product, but it is cheaper and does the job, so for now is staying.
I got these products when they were £4 each and on a 3 for 2 offer in Morrisons so I can't complain.
John Frieda products are on offer at Boots at the moment. 2 products for £8.00. You can also purchase John Frieda products through Amazon.com and Amazon UK .
The John Frieda Website is here with a rundown of all their products . You can pick your region.

very nice, I've used these before and they work great :) x
ReplyDeleteAs I let my hair dry naturally, I don't buy anything like this, I like a spray in product that goes on dry hair before you use your GHD's and few brands do one sadly, they are all for damp hair before blow dry x
ReplyDeleteI use a Sebastian product called "trillaint." This can be used on wet or dry hair. It states in the instructions "use on dry hair with hot tools". It gently conditions and provides heat protection. I've not found a good drugstore equivalent to this yet!
DeleteI don't use any products on my hair, apart from shampoo and conditioner. I wash & straighten every day but thankfully have been blessed with good, thick hair that withstands all the abuse it gets. Just as well, as my focus is always on my skin, so if I had to worry about my hair as well, I'd be half the day getting ready!!! However, some friends of mine swear by the John Frieda products, so I have heard that they're really good.
ReplyDeleteIf those products you used in your latest outfit post, I am in, as it looks like you have a lot of volume in your hair despite the rainy and windy weather!
ReplyDeleteI agree Claire - most of the thickening products I've tried leave some sort of residue but I guess I've just come to expect it! I've used prducts over the years from the John Frieda Frizz Ease, Luxurious Volume,Brilliant Brunette and Full Repair ranges. Haven't tried any of these three though - like the look of the thickening lotion and the hairspray xx
