The Red Jeans Dilemma.
It's been a bit of an up and down week this week. I think I am a bit of a sensitive soul under all that British exterior and have taken a few things to heart perhaps I shouldn't have. So what is the answer?
Some bright red jeans from Sainsburys found lurking in the back of the wardrobe!
They are so comfy and long and so, so soft and I fell in love with them, but they are red.
Very red.
I have just worn them once before.
In the car.
I really do love them, but .......?
The Jurys out on this one.
Red Next Bag £25
I am however in love with the Patriotic scarf, picked up in a little seaside shop for £8. Actually it was 3 for £20 so I got two more as well - oops.
Union Jack Scarf £8, Boden Lace Top £35 ( sale)
It is a little tricky finding anywhere to take photos at the moment. The builders are encroaching on every side. They have been absent for all of half term - I don't know whether to be impressed that they are spending time with their families or frustrated at the lack of progress.
Might as well help out a little whilst they are away......
Lace top - Boden sale 2013 about £35
Guess Sandals - TK.Maxx £29.99
Crew denim jacket - £25 2011
Scarf - £8 2013
Cost of outfit - £111.99
As you have probably guessed I am a bit of a scarf addict as well as a bag addict. I have been eyeing up Avrils lovely new shop with her gorgeous range of scarves - go take a look here School Gate Style Scarf Shop.
I am very glad to be going to get my hair sorted out tomorrow. The ends need trimming as it has got so dry . I am going to splash out and have some colour again.

I love your red jeans. I think they look great. Sometimes wearing a colour like red can really perk you up. I wear red lipstick all the time and it is almost a defence mechanism. I like it too, of course.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty frustrating when you have builders in, not that it is always their fault. I think just having someone working in and around your home can be challenging as it is your personal space. In addition once you see the work progressing you start to get excited about the finished result and any subsequent delays seem all the more frustrating.
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished result and it isn't even my house. It will be great when it is done I'm sure and will completely transform your lives.
Thank you - I love the colour - just need to be brave enough to wear them out! I can't wait until the building is finished . A way to go yet, but it will be worth it.
DeleteI think you look fabulous in your red jeans! I think they go great with your patriotic scarf and amazing handbag :) I too have red pants that I don't wear much because I feel a bit uncomfortable in them, but I do get compliments when I wear them!

I'll wear mine if you wear yours!! I love red as you can see! X
DeleteBright jeans are awesome! And I absolutely love your scarf!
ReplyDeleteSuch a bargain too - albeit a bit naughty! x
DeleteThe red jeans look fab on you
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie - they are growing on me!
DeleteThey look fab!
ReplyDeleteThank Jo - may yet wear them into town!
DeleteI have serious long leg envy. Yours look really good in those red jeans and they are challenging to wear but you do pull them off. I'm having a bad time with all my jeans at the moment - gone off them all but I think that's more to do with the fact that they all feel a little snug at the moment. I've been over carbing at the moment. But will put pay to that tomorrow. Or go and buy bigger jeans.
ReplyDeleteI have eaten rather a lot too over half term Sue - and definitely carbs to keep me going with the kids ( and no help again!) Still - back to the diet again tomorrow! You always look so slim in your pictures.
DeleteI agree. I love those red jeans and the scarf.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!
I am in love with this scarf ( and the bag!) X
DeleteGreat outfit. I love red, its my fav colour. Love the scarf too x
ReplyDeleteIt is such a happy colour isn't it! X
DeleteI know what you mean about 'bright jeans' Claire - tried an orange pair on in Zara a few weeks ago but wasn't brave enough to buy - yours look great though, they look like they fit really well - you can really pull it off! Love the scarf too! Had all my hair cut off last week - so short! Hope you have a better week this week (if it makes you feel any better I'm terribly sensitive!) xx
ReplyDeleteOOooo orange sounds nice, but again they would live in my wardrobe with me dithering and wondering what people would say about the lady who thinks she can get away with it!!! Glad to hear I'm not the only one ( sensitive!) - I take things so to heart sometimes! Oh well. xx
DeleteOh My Goodness! Wear these jeans every chance you get! You look amazing in them. And you've styled them brilliantly with that pretty lace top and edgy denim jacket. I'm crazy about scarves right now too. They really can take an outfit to a higher level.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of just half of you...it's fun to follow the demo/build adventure.
Sue xo
Thank you - think I might actually! You are so right about the scarves - I have a ever growing collection! x
DeleteLove those red jeans and that fab scarf.
ReplyDeleteThank you! X
DeleteRed is hot for jeans! Love how the scarf works with them.
ReplyDeleteThank you! X
DeleteOooooh, want that scarf! Love. The red jeans look great too....especially with one leg extended mid air. :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha - fooling around whilst the builders stay away!!
DeleteI think the red trousers are terrific! Thanks for sharing your great look with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteThank you Patti - nice to have you home! x
DeleteI loves scarves too, Claire! Your jeans are fabulous. Colored jeans are all the rage here..those red ones would fly of the shelves! They are bright and scream springtime! They remind me of poppies.
ReplyDeleteThey are the colour of beautiful red poppies - I am going to be brave and wear them more after what everyone has said. There!! Xx
DeleteI love red jeans, I have a few pair in different shades (I know, I went crazy) It took me a while to jump on the red bandwagon too but once I'm on, I'm ON! I honestly think you are rocking this jeans, and pairing it with blue is one of the best way to wear it in my humble opinion. Keep wearing them, I'm sure you'll get used to the idea and buy more!

I'm getting there I think - I bet I'll join you and end up with more pairs eventually! X
DeleteClaire, you have got 4 yeses ;-) Really love your red trousers and you styled them so well! The colour combination is perfect and your scarf is great.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your lovely comment on my blog!

Thank you! And to you too! I'll take the four yeses !! X
DeleteI think these jeans look great and could be worn with many things. They look so good on you! Your scarf and and bag are perfect.
ReplyDeleteblue hue wonderland
Thank you - I need to try then with some other combinations as well to get a bit more comfortable with them !
DeleteIf I looked as good as you do in your red jeans, I'd be wearing them everyday. You look fabulous! I'm in love with your Union Jack scarf. My mother (and all of her family) were born and raised in England so I love all English things and I know what you mean about the stoic English exterior. I hope your feelings were helped by the fabulous red jeans. Clothing does have a way of making things better!
ReplyDeleteHeather from Friendship, Life and Style
Thank you Heather! I kept them on all day and they did make me feel a lot better about things - red is such a cheery colour! X
DeleteThe jeans look amazing; your legs are fantastic .... can't believe you have 3 children!! Wear the jeans and make those who upset you really jealous!! What about trying them with a flatter shoe or flip flop? That would make the look a bit more casual? X
ReplyDeleteThank you - they are quite slimming though!!! I think a flatter shoe is a good idea - will give that a twirl. I am determined to crack this one! X
DeleteWhat do you mean "the jury's out" on the red jeans? They fit perfectly and look sensational on you! I'm completely in love with your scarf, too!
ReplyDeleteSpashionista (Alicia)
Thank you Alicia! The scarf has become my favourite one at the moment - I am tempted to go back and get a couple more for a giveaway!!
DeleteThis is a fantastic outfit! I especially love the pants and the scarf!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBrilliant photos!! And I like the red jeans, I think you carry them off fine. Love, love, LOVE the scarf though ... really nice! Hope the building work is going well. H
ReplyDeleteHaving fun whilst the builders stay away - arrrgh! They should be back tomorrow . If not I don't know what I'll do - it is driving me a little crazy - I just want progress!!!!! I know it will be worth it in the end, but it doesn't seem to be getting anywhere and there is so much yet to do....... oh well. X
DeleteOh, yeah. If you can't beat 'um ... wear pretty red jean to show off your enviable figure in just the best way! That will show 'um. I'll be whomever was mean to you can't wear red skinnies like this!
ReplyDeleteGood job, you!
Fun photos, as well ... thanks for the smiles.
Thank you Jan - and glad I made you smile too! XX
DeleteI love the whole outfit, especially the red jeans, it looks great with the denim jacket.
ReplyDeleteThose red jeans look fab and you know how to rock them girl! I have a pair almost identical and I have been wearing them with a white linen t-shirt from next, a butterfly print scarf from Zara and a 12 year old denim jacket and I feel damn good in that get-up and so should you in yours! x
