Shopping My Wardrobe

The Red Jeans Dilemma.

It's been a bit of an up and down week this week. I think I am a bit of a sensitive soul under all that British exterior and have taken a few things to heart perhaps I shouldn't have. So what is the answer?

Some bright red jeans from Sainsburys found lurking in the back of the wardrobe!

They are so comfy and long and so, so soft and I fell in love with them, but they are red.

Very red.

I have just worn them once before.

In the car.

I really do love them, but .......?

The Jurys out on this one.

Red Next Bag £25

I am however in love with the Patriotic scarf, picked up in a little seaside shop for £8. Actually it was 3 for £20 so I got two more as well - oops.

Union Jack Scarf £8, Boden Lace Top £35 ( sale)

It is a little tricky finding anywhere to take photos at the moment. The builders are encroaching on every side. They have been absent for all of half term - I don't know whether to be impressed that they are spending time with their families or frustrated at the lack of progress.

Might as well help out a little whilst they are away......

Red Jeans - Sainsburys £14 2012
Lace top - Boden sale 2013 about £35
Guess Sandals - TK.Maxx £29.99
Crew denim jacket - £25 2011
Scarf - £8 2013

Cost of outfit - £111.99

As you have probably guessed I am a bit of a scarf addict as well as a bag addict. I have been eyeing up Avrils lovely new shop with her gorgeous range of scarves - go take a look here School Gate Style Scarf Shop.

I am very glad to be going to get my hair sorted out tomorrow. The ends need trimming as it has got so dry . I am going to splash out and have some colour again.

Shopping My Wardrobe

Rose Gold and Coral

I can't quite bring myself to give up the long sleeves and jeans just yet. The weather is lovely and sunny this weekend, but the temperatures are not enough to tempt me yet. We did use the BBQ to cook both evenings over the weekend though!

I have a bit of a love affair going on with Topshop Baxter jeans at the moment. They are so comfy and they do them in a 32" length so I am a happy bunny.

I am hankering after a white pair now the sun is beginning to appear to add to the grey and black pair I already have.

This coral cardigan is a lightweight Gap sale bargain. I love it. It is neither too hot, nor too cold. It looks equally good with a skirt as trousers and can be dressed up or down. I have worn it to work a fair few times as well. The sleeves are a proper length on me too - love Gap for long sleeves!

The tan sandals are my bargain from the end of last summer ( see here) for £10 and still going strong.

The necklace is a thrifted gift from a friend who knows my love of coral. The watch is a rose gold one from Next which I think was about £20. The hoop earrings are also rose gold and were £4 for 2 pairs , again from Next. Rose gold and coral are a lovely pairing.

The bag is a new purchase confession. An impulse buy. I just couldn't walk away as it was leather, a lovely coral/red colour and only £25. I was powerless.

Coral cardigan -  Gap sale £19.99
Necklace -  Thrifted Free
Sandals -  Peacocks sale £10
Baxter Jeans -  Topshop £40
Watch, earings and bag -  Next £20, £4, £25

Total cost of outfit - £69.99
Total cost of accessories - £49

Do you have a favourite colour pairing this Spring/Summer?

Shopping My Wardrobe

And a Profile Picture!

I have been trying to get a decent head shot for my profile picture, but can't find one I am happy with. This is why.....

Can you tell it was windy - again?

Which one do you think goes with the body.....

Anyway I digress.

This is my weekly post of

Shopping My Wardrobe

I pick items from my existing wardrobe that I feel were a good deal and good quality.

Sometimes I will add a new item in like these Brady Boyfriend Jeans from Asos. I have been looking for a slimmer cut of boyfriend jeans for a while and then saw a post on The Frugality saying how lovely they were and they are! Soft and so comfortable. I have a size 8 which is just right.

This week I have:

  • Sainsbury's Mens Grey Marl Fairtrade T Shirt Small ( they didn't have an XS, but I wanted grey!)- I love nicking things from the men's departments. This is loose and comfortable and just what I wanted . £4
  • Sanisbury's Scarf in denim and yellow - I got this a few weeks ago and I love it . It has a linen feel and is perfect for the Spring. Only £8.
  • A new purchase. Asos Brady Boyfirend jeans. In love with the comfort of these. Thanks to The Frugality for the heads up. £38. Worth every penny.
  • Gap jacket - sale purchase from last year. I think it was around the £25 mark. Wear this a lot. ( see headless shot above - only decent snap of the jacket in this wind!)
  • Ash wedges - greatly reduced, but still £80. Worth it?  Oh yes! See the story here.

I saw some great men's T shirts in Next at the weekend as I was panic buying a pair of smart (ish) trousers for my husband. He is losing weight at the moment and wanted a pair of trousers to wear to a wedding this weekend, but didn't want to spend the earth on something that might not fit him in a months time. They have some great chinos for only £20 - result. They also do their T shirts in an XS and have some lovely designs. Worth a look in the men's departments if you are looking for some basics for casual wear and can't find anything in the women's or want something different. Knitwear is another great one - light knits in an XS in some lovely colours.

Knitwear Collection
Crew neck knits - great casual wear.
Essential Tops
T shirts ( In XS) £6 , 2 for £10 or 3 for £15 !!

Knitwear Collection
Monochrome knits - love these!

You can shop at Next here

Have you ever shopped the men's department's for items for your wardrobe?
