Morning
This is part three of my Beauty routine posts. You can read about some of the products I use here and here.
This is my current morning routine.
- I cleanse with Clinque Take the Day Off cleanser and remove with a flannel and warm running water.
- I tone with Ren's Clarifying Toner using a cotton wool pad.
- I follow this with Hydraluron and Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream.
- I let these soak in for a few minutes then apply suncream.
- I allow these products to sink into my skin whilst I make
caffeinecoffee. - I then apply my make up.
This may seem a lot to do each morning, but it is like any routine, the more you do it, the quicker it is. I am struggling to find a serum, apart from the hydraluron to use that I am happy with in the morning. The 7 day trial I did with the Clarins serum I found it to be too heavy on my skin.
I get up a little earlier in the morning to give myself time before the children get up to exercise, shower and do my make up. It is important to me so that is what I choose to do.
I am also a morning person which helps . It is probably the only time of day in our house that there is quiet - before the children, husband and builders all descend.
It keeps me sane.

I am a morning person too and usually exercise first thing but my routine for skincare is:
ReplyDeleteGet a shower, wash face with Dove Soap, dry with towel, apply cheapest moisturiser with SPF 15.
The morning is the best bit of the day!! I wish my skin could take soap, but it explodes!
DeleteI really enjoy my morning and evening skin care routine! So relaxing and seems a lil indulgent! Morning I cleanse, tone, eyeslix, snoxcin ( even tho a serum I still like to use a separate serum) a serum, lately super indulgence using Juriliqie's herbal recovery gel as I got some samples then moisturiser. I will wait for an indeed labs special to get some hydrolaun. I got the other indeed lab products on a whim and when I came home I looked them up and if course found many many positives for hydrolaun so will incorporate that in when I see a sale!! Skin care = me time :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely routine! Your skin will thank you for it! x
DeleteGreat to have a little bit of me time, I have swapped from using clarins serums the one I used, hydraquench they changed the formula and it is now too wet, if that makes sense. So I am on the look out for a new one , as I need a serum in Winter!
ReplyDeleteI found the Clarins serum too much too - it just sat on my skin really. I may try the vichy one as recommended by Jen below! X
DeleteI am not much of a morning person Claire - but I do enjoy my skin care routine - could never get up earlier to exercise though so well done! I am liking my Vichy Aqualia serum in the morning! xx
ReplyDeleteIf I don't do it first I'd never do it! Although I do swim later. I am going to try the Vichy serum - I believe Boots have an offer on atm!! X
DeleteI LOVE seeing what products people use. Do you wear make-up over the suncream? Just wondering how it sits if you do. I've found some of the suncreams don't like foundation. x
ReplyDeleteI do wear make up over this suncream. I find this one ok, but you are right some are too greasy and the make up slips off. I find setting make up with a bit of powder helps, but using a suncream specially for the face should stop this from happening. Bare minerals and dermalogica do great protection for the face - on my wish list! XX
DeleteI am definitely NOT a morning person ha ha! I like to be up fairly early, but nobody talk to me for the first hour and until I've had at least one cup of tea ha ha! Have you tried the Pukka serum? I got a trial size in this months glossy box and although it is quite thick, it settles on the skin really well and gives a great base on which to apply makeup x
