What's in my jewellery boxes?
This is another of my little posts allowing you a fleeting glimpse into my home and the things I like .....
These two lovely wooden boxes nestle happily on my large chest of drawers next to my hairbrushes. They were a present from my husband and are made out of an old beam from a Devon longhouse so are unique and just a little bit quirky! I use them to contain the earrings that are 'in favour' and I wear most at the moment. The rest are relegated to boxes in a drawer on a chest of drawers we have on the landing until I decide I want a change.
This is the collection I have in the two boxes at the moment - a few rings have managed to sneak in as well I've noticed, including a simple crossed silver band with a tiny diamond that I got when my granny passed away a few years ago.
These earrings were a present from my Father, many years ago, before he got really sick . He wouldn't remember now. They will always mean a lot to me.
I love these little pearl earrings and was rather pleased to find a necklace that goes so well with them for less than £20. These get worn quite a lot!
These were chosen for me by my daughter for my birthday - I actually love the childish nature of them!
My wedding earrings from Sassi Holfords - not kept in my wooden boxes, but worth a mention. Need I say more. Love!
I always wear small diamond studs but sometimes push the boat out if I'm out for the evening and go for something dangly! Love the boxes by the way x
ReplyDeleteI'd love some diamond studs!!! Xx
DeleteThe wood boxes are amazing, really beautiful and about the question, I love big earrings, the bigger the better.
ReplyDeleteI have some big earrings that I adore but am not quite brave enough to wear!!!!!!!
DeleteYou've got some lovely pieces there Claire, love the pearl droppers and the ones with the amber stone! I too love the boxes, sometimes simple clean designs are the best! x
ReplyDeleteThe amber stone are some of my oldest but dearest earrings!! X
DeleteHi there, just wanted to say thank you for joining my blog and delighted to add my name to your list of followers. LOVE your wedding earrings, really gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I still wear them as well. X
DeleteI love these kinds of blogs - they appeal to my nosy streak! lol! You've a lovely selection of earrings...but this is where I admit to not wearing earrings any more. I had my ears pierced at age 7 and wore them endlessly until I was about 30 but since, I've only ever worn a sparkly pair for one formal I went to about 6 years ago. I love them on other people though....so maybe I just need to go buy some! Hope you're having a good weekend, Avril x
ReplyDeleteIt's funny isn't it - I'd never notice if people werent wearing earrings, but I feel half dressed if I forget to put a pair on - silly really!X
DeleteHi Applebypie! I just joined your blog! I like the boxes! Simple can be so beautiful! And the earrings your father has given you are really nice. Personally, I like dangling earrings, size doesn't matter, it depends on the mood and the clothes I'm wearing!
ReplyDeleteThank you....xx
DeleteWhat an interesting post! Really enjoyed reading it x
