Phyto Intense Volume Mousse

 Wednesday Beauty Buys

I hate the way that some mousses leave a sticky residue in your hair or even just a 'feel' of product. I don't find that I need a lot of product in my hair to create volume. Although my hair is fine , I have a lot of it, so it is quite happy to turn into a bushy mess with a bit of the wrong product thrown in!

However, I do find that without product my hair lies very flat at the roots and I don't like that. So, I have been hunting for a simple, unfussy mousse that will add a bit of lift without residue or stickiness.

Easy? No!

I have tried a fair few in my quest.

However, this product,Phyto intense volume mousse is fantastic.

You only need a small amount as it does create incredible volume -too much for me the frst time I used it - I looked like I had been caught in a wind tunnel!

I use a small amount and apply it as close to the roots as I can get it. I leave the mid and ends clear. I then comb through to make sure it is evenly spread. Most of the product is at the top of my hair where I want the "lift".

What it says on the tin:

It creates structure, increases volume and controls the style. Acacia collagen hydrates the hair while protecting from environmental stresses. Contains a natural UV filter.

I don't find it leaves any feel of product in my hair, but it does add an amazing amount of volume. My hair is quite dry at the moment, but this mousse seems to add more shine to it rather than dry it out further. It doesn't have a strong aroma at all, in fact I would say it doesn't really smell of anything which is a huge bonus for me as I often dislike the artificial smell of hair products!

I wasn't sent this product to review . This is just something I have purchased I think is really worth the money. If you are struggling to find a product to give volume without residue I would recommend giving this a go.

Tangle Teezers

I never felt the need for one of these until I had the delight of having a little girl enter my life with long, sometimes incredibly curly and tangled hair.

The daily fight to get a brush or a comb or anything through her hair to get it to resemble something less than " an explosion in a wire wool factory" is now a thing of the past. These brushes are incredible. I have one for my little girl, one to comb through my conditioner in the shower and a compact one for my handbag!

Wow...obsessed, maybe. Just convinced that they are worth the money and time and effort saved in their use. They gently ease through the most stubborn of tangles and can be used on either wet or dry hair. They are ideal for hair extensions as they don't get stuck on the bonds as a normal brush or comb can do. There is less hair breakage and less trauma to the hair definitely. The official website can be found here with the story of the inventor, although there are many stockists for these products now.

Wednesday Beauty Buys

Wednesday Beauty Buys - a product review.

The second shorter weekly post will be on a beauty product I'm trying. I'm no expert, but like many of us , it is one of my little weaknesses - I love " smellies".  I am putting my Bath Sancutary Spa Hand Mask on every few nights at the moment , gloves and all, and the thought so far is that it is making a difference....a final result on that one in a few weeks. Another little bargain I noticed online today was that Mumsnet co buy has a great deal on a 6 month She Said Beauty Box - £32.50 instead of £48.60. Worth registering for Mumsnet anyway as they have all sorts of money off deals on a regular basis.

Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum Miracle filler

So - thats all an aside! Now for the review! This stuff is amazing. You have to try it. I wasn't even looking for this exactly but it has made my hair shine for the first time in a very long time.... it is for blonde hair or hair with blonde tones in it so not for everyone.  It is billed as a spray in protector, strengthener, reparative lotion that you spray on damp hair before blow drying. It smells AMAZING...and leaves your hair feeling very silky soft and conditioned. Ive been using it for about a month now and I'm sold on it. It sells for about £15 , but worth every penny . I'm going to give their shampoos a try when my existing bottle runs out too. You can view their whole range of products here - Pureology .
