The Big Reveal

At Last!

Ok so we haven't finished the whole project, but lets face it , this was always mainly about the kitchen for me anyway!

So, here we have it ( minus curtains, pictures etc, but you get the idea!)

The main kitchen area

Pearl

Washing up and tea and coffee!

My mantle with a few of my charity finds

The decadence of a second sink!
The view from the side entrance

Central Island Lights!

With a Pretty Middle!

The other end of the kitchen - new table yet to be purchased!

Larder cupboards and fridge

Pictures waiting! Old Sofa for now.

Loving Cooking on Pearl :)

The colour on the walls is " Yes Your Honour" from Fired Earth
The units are a pale French Grey.
The dark grey on the chimney breast is "Antimony" from Fired Earth
I got the central Island lights through a company called Dusk
The floor is a brushed limestone in mid grey called "Chapel Stone".
The kitchen designer was Kevin Partridge and I cannot recommend him highly enough. An absolute gentleman who took pride in every inch of his work. Brilliant. His website can be found here
The units look paler here than they are, but they are a very pale grey.

I am so enjoying getting all my bits and pieces back out and arranging the cupboards again! I am in my element here. I have never had so much space to play with.

And the OCD with the organising has begun...

I also have redone our hallway as we ended up getting the floor replaced in here. In the interest of cost I decorated this myself. I shall post my efforts soon. I think enough photos for today!

Hope it was worth the wait ! X

  1. Gorgeous Claire - what a lovely large space for you and the family - bet you'll be spending a whole lot of time in there! Love the colours - they look really calming. Love the granite worktops - loads of storage space and working space - love the chair by the patio door and the curves in the end units - I have a thing about curvy furniture! Well done! xx

  5. It's beautiful and you've managed to get a great finish. I've got a serious case of kitchen envy. I like your armchair. I may look up the island lights myself as we've needed some over our kitchen table for a long time now and haven't managed to find any we liked at the right price. Now you can just enjoy cooking and living in it. You deserve it.

    1. Thank you! I am really pleased with the lights. I got a discount too (30% off) so they weren't too expensive either. They have some gorgeous products - I am going to order some outside lights and some shades for our utility and cloakroom also! Great service - arrived the day after ordering! XX

    1. Ohhh thank you Anne - it took me so long to decide on all the colours and fittings etc. I found it so stressful as my OH didn't want to get involved with the design at all. In fact as the kitchen designers arrived to fit it he asked - where is the sink going?!!

  12. Wow Claire - you certainly know how to put a kitchen together. It's stunning and I can imagine so incredibly satisfying to see it all come together in such a beautiful space. All that saving was definitely worth it! And that's a brilliant way to store the little jars - in baskets which pull out easily. I do that with some things and my sis does too.

    1. Thanks Sue! Took us 15 years to save to do it , but now I'd say so worth it! Having space with three kids, especially two almost teenage boys is such a treat. Not sure we will ever be able to afford anything ever again, but oh well:) I love organising things properly - it's a bit of a problem at times and I've been deprived for months so I'm likely to go overboard! 16. Oh wow Claire it looks amazing! Love it, totally love it but the thought of how much this must of cost especially as it doesn't sound like you just went to B&Q, just confirms to me, I will probably never get a new kitchen. Sad thing is I have so much space we could use as our garage is long enough to fit three cars so could go through and make something huge, in my dreams! Anyway enjoy it honey, amazing space xx

    1. You know me - we didn't pay much more than an off the shelf kitchen. If you shop around you can get some fantastic deals. Our kitchen supplier buys the frames, then makes and paints the doors so you get a bespoke look at half the price that will last for years. It was the building work that cost the money unfortunately as half our house was falling down and had to be rebuilt as we had no foundations! Been a bit of a nightmare few months, but so glad we did it otherwise the whole place could have come tumbling down in a few years! If you have the space there already then I wouldn't rule it out :) If you have time to do some research you can get it done in a budget for sure. I was amazed what you can bargain for. It has certainly been worth the years of saving though :) XX
