The extension is slowly coming together. We are about 4 to 5 weeks behind schedule because of the problems with foundations ( or lack of them) that we encountered early on in the build. I am a little concerned that we may have to put off the painting of the exterior and the exterior ground works ( the drive) and finishing until the Spring. However the plus side to this is we will have a bit of time to regroup financially!
The builders have been great to have around. They are respectful and hard working. The quality of their work is good and they have put up with us fussing and worrying our way through this build with great patience. Can you believe this is the beginning of the sixth month they have been here?
I will continue to post a few updates over the next few weeks, but then I am going to leave it until the kitchen is installed and finished and prepare a final reveal so you can see it in all it's glory !
Here is a little confession before hand. We were given a bit of money to put towards the kitchen and at the beginning of the build we decided to splash out on one item of extravagance. Here she is...... PEARL.
|Total Control AGA in Pearl Ashes|
I am still struggling a little with the wall colour. The units are a very pale french grey and the surfaces are black granite. The floor is old style mid grey flagstones . I am thinking to keep it fairly pale as the room is on the North side of the house. Maybe a hint of something in a white? The room is a large room and I do have a chimney breast around the AGA so I could paint this in a feature colour .......
